Chairman's Message

FMS 2026

Tom Coughlin Tom Coughlin
FMS General Chair

All parts of the Artificial Intelligence workflow involve digital storage and memory. AI, the internet of things, the growth of data centers, industry automation, automobile and consumer applications and many other fields are driving every part of the digital storage and memory hierarchy and creating emerging opportunities for new technologies and system architectures. AI in particular has created shortages in all types of storage and memory technology.

The 2026 Future of Memory and Storage (FMS) is where it all comes together: digital storage and memory technologies and their applications. With its 20-year history of programs, keynotes and exhibits, FMS is the largest independent digital storage and memory event in the world. Everybody who is anybody in our industry pays attention to what goes on at the FMS. The conference is a must-attend industry networking event, particularly in a time when storage and memory users and manufacturers need to work together to meet market demand.

The 2026 FMS program will include:

  • Plenary keynotes from the top companies in the industry
  • Prestigious awards: Lifetime Achievement, SuperWomen in Leadership, and Best of Show
  • Chat with the Experts (our popular Beer and Pizza networking event)
  • A full exhibit hall to experience the latest hardware, software, applications and services
  • Business, market, application, and up-to-the-minute technology presentations
  • Must-see panels
  • Popular topics for 2026 include agentic and physical AI, data analytics, high performance computing (HPC), CXL, UCIe/chiplets, automotive, space applications, volatile and non-volatile memory, primary and secondary storage, archiving and data preservation (tape, hard disk drive, optical storage, DNA, and more), sustainability, consumer and cloud computing solutions.

Please join us in Santa Clara this August for the best networking and learning opportunity in the industry - FMS: The Future of Memory and Storage!

Thank you,

Tom
